A nice, quiet surprise nestled a little way from the hustle and bustle of the main drag in Lakewood! This waterfront park is small and quiet, but robust enough to host events with hundreds of people. While you're there, treat yourself to a selfie with the famous "Ugly Lucy" statue (as well as its much better, much more accurate, much less famous replacement). Great for launching kayaks and canoes from, but don't expect a day at the beach: There's no swimming access in this park.
Nothing too special going on here. It is a nice little park with a couple of statues dedicated to Lucille Ball. The original Statue is very ugly. However, they kept the original Statue and have placed a new statue in the middle of the park that does the great Lucille Ball justice.
You get to see the new statue of Lucille Ball and then you get to see the old statue of Lucille Ball. That is all that actually deals with her. The lake is beautiful with a steam boat and light house and a nice little slide/swing area for the kids to blow off steam. It would be worth it for the park atmosphere but as to much dealing with Lucille Ball - not worth the bother.
Loved the Lucy statue.. didn't get to see ugly Lucy. They must have hid her somewhere. Beautiful view of the lake and close to Lucille's childhood home.
Quiet, kinda out of the way. Great views of the lake, and of course there's Lucille Ball's statue. And she's beautiful!
