She went in to the other hospital for more tests and of course, the baby is perfect and healthy. The thing that WCA saw on the sonogram was just the baby's umbilical cord, not an indicator of some life threatening problem.
Why throw names of detrimental syndromes out there without being sure? Why not just say you need to have more tests done, especially when your facility is not capable of performing the tests needed?
I don't even live in NY, but my family has had 2 horrible experiences with this hospital in the last couple of years. The most recent is the one prompting this review. My pregnant sister in law came in for a checkup due to some pains. After doing a sonogram, she was given some pretty grim news about her unborn child without any sort of evidence or further testing. She was sent to another hospital for more tests because they were apparently incapable of doing the testing needed to determine if there was anything going on with her baby. She wasn't able to get in until a week later, so for that week, she was left with a huge amount of stress, not knowing if her baby would be okay.
